Description
Witnessed my first mid-summer social Loon gathering on our lake this past July. I was for a morning Kayak came across a social meet & greet of 5 Loons. This is a rare sight to see but is known to occur with some Loons from within the same Lake. I drifted in my kayak watching them swim together and fish. The entire gathering lasted about 20 min before meeting adjourned and each pair took off in opposite directions of the lake. I witnessed this once again a couple of morning's later. A fascinating encounter!
